Arístides Moreno

Arístides Moreno Medina was born in Gáldar, Gran Canaria, in 1972. He began his musical career in the group Tatueque, where he remained until 1995, the year he started giving his first concerts at the former Centro Insular de Cultura, now the Sala Insular de Teatro.

His place in Canarian music culture comes from an authorial voice that mixes song, humour and social criticism. By 2009 he was already a Canarian singer who brought music and lyrics full of humour to the stage, with songs such as Horcon Boys, Posición horizontal and Felicidad, as well as his presence at festivals including WOMAD Canarias, Territorios Sevilla, Mercat de Música Viva de Vic and the Ollín Kan Festival in Mexico.

Arístides Moreno's public dimension has endured through the social relevance of his songs and recent recognitions. In 2025 he received the individual Premio SER Canario, with Samba de Otro Mundo and Horcon Boys as reference points for a critical view of island problems. Records, repertory, style, collaborations and the 101 Brass Band stage are developed in the specialised soloist-and-musician profile.
