Lucha del garrote is a stick or club fighting practice that has survived in Fuerteventura and other rural Canarian contexts. It shares a pastoral setting with juego del palo, but has its own technical and regulatory modalities.[1]

Jorge Domínguez Navarro collects in his 1988 study the lucha del garrote as part of Canarian customs and traditions, highlighting its validity in Fuerteventura and its value as an expression of local identity.[1]
