Daniel Martín Castellano

Daniel Martín Castellano studied Teaching at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and later Educational Psychology. The Government of the Canary Islands' educational source places the start of his work as a teacher in 1995 and describes sustained activity in oral storytelling, school libraries and reading mediation.

In 1999 he began performing as an oral storyteller. In 2003, while working as an adviser on school libraries and reading promotion at a teacher-training centre, he created Animalec, a resource and ideas platform for reading promotion. The Government of the Canary Islands page that lists him as a speaker confirms the public continuity of this project and his training activity.

His bibliography includes educational materials, illustrated books, fiction and children's literature. The available chronology records the Biblioteca Insular's Special Prize for Canarian Authors in 2011, the collective work Wi, winner of Cuentos Solidarios in 2016, and the Asociación Cultural Tasate's recognition for literary career in 2021. These are milestones in a practice combining creative and educational work.
