The flora of Tenerife reflects altitude, exposure, humidity and long adaptation to volcanic soils and island isolation.

El tajinaste picante, endemico del Parque Nacional, florece en primavera y es uno de los simbolos visuales mas reconocibles de la alta montana.

Por encima del pinar aparecen comunidades de retamas, cedros, violetas del Teide y otras plantas adaptadas a heladas, radiacion ultravioleta y suelos volcanicos recientes.
