Juan Reyes Bartlet was born in Puerto de la Cruz in 1889 and died in 1967. He was a musician, composer and band director, linked to the town band and the Municipal Music School of Puerto de la Cruz.

His works include María Adela, Patria Canaria, Serenata, El amor en cuarta plana, Salve Regina, La Virgen de la Candelaria and María de Magdala. He lost his sight in 1948 and continued his musical activity.

Legacy

The Coral Reyes Bartlet, founded in 1970, preserves his name as public memory of the musician within Tenerife choral life.
