Bejo is a Canarian singer, composer and painter born in Tenerife, known for his wordplay-driven rap, his early start as a lyricist and his passage through Locoplaya.

Early life

Borja Jiménez Mérida, known artistically as Bejo, was born in Tenerife in 1994. A singer, composer and painter, he has been writing songs since the age of 12. He was part of Locoplaya alongside Don Patricio and Uge, and his song Nuestra playa eres tú earned a Goya nomination.

Historical role

His studio discography runs from Hipi Hapa Vacilanduki (2017) to Tripi Hapa (2021), via Parafernalio (2018) and Chachichacho (2020). Alongside his touring activity come collaborations with Ana Mena, Macaco, Cráneo and Bizarrap, as well as his authorship of the 2022 Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival poster.

He is a Canarian urban artist whose public identity combines humour, verbal play, rap and a highly recognisable island imagery.
