The Treaty of Alcáçovas recognises Castilian rights over the Canary Islands.

The Treaty of Alcáçovas, signed on 4 September 1479, ended the war between Castile and Portugal. Portugal recognised Castilian rights over the Canary Islands, while Castile recognised Portuguese control over the other Atlantic territories specified in the agreement.
