- Fiesta del Pino (Virgin of the Pine)8 September is the day of Our Lady of the Pine, patroness of Gran Canaria, and a public holiday across the island, celebrated at her basilica in Teror. On the eve, 7 September, the great pilgrimage offering takes place with carts and groups from all 21 municipalities of the island, one of the largest folk events in the Canary Islands.
