Julia Rodríguez is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Fuerteventura linked to the timple, Canarian folklore and a contemporary reading of island tradition.

Music career

The sources place her in Fuerteventura, in a family with a strong musical tradition. She began on the timple with Domingo Rodríguez “El Colorao”, expanded her training in jazz singing at the ESMUC and in transverse flute at the Conservatorio Profesional de Música de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and completed her learning with timple, Venezuelan cuatro, guitar, percussion, composition and arrangements. With Hacia la vida she presented her first EP in 2024, later recognised with awards from Canarian music institutions, and her name is now circulating through festivals and stages across the archipelago.
