Music career
His public beginnings came in contests and festivals on Gran Canaria before he entered the national song circuit: he took part in the 1971 Festival de Amateurs del Noroeste de Gran Canaria and appeared at Benidorm and Alcobendas, with a professional career begun in 1973. In 1976 he represented Spain at Eurovision with Sobran las palabras. After awards at Viña del Mar, Rostock and the Yamaha Song Festival, he restarted his professional career in 1983 in the United States, from where he developed repertory for Latin audiences, telenovelas and other performers.
