Independent rock group
Texxcoco is a Gran Canaria independent rock band that moved its project to Madrid and linked the island scene with labels, festivals and venues in Spain’s alternative circuit.
Girando por Salas places Texxcoco’s foundation in late 2015 in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. After moving to Madrid, the band released two EPs with Clifford Records and the album Disorder with Subterfuge Records. The documented line-up for that stage includes Adriana Moscoso, Héctor Pérez, Cristian Muñoz and Joshua Delgado. Factoría Pop records a later stage as a power trio with lyrics in Spanish.
Their importance lies in showing a recent indie-scene route to professionalisation: leaving the Canary Islands, settling in Madrid, recording with specialist labels and entering festivals such as Primavera Sound, Ebrovisión, Santander Music Festival and Festival Gigante. Their case connects youth, mobility and national alternative-rock networks.
Texxcoco combines alternative rock with noise, punk, post-punk, garage and psychedelia. Sources describe urgent, garage-driven and energetic songs; in the more recent stage the group leans towards pop without abandoning a 1990s indie base.
Their immediate legacy is transmitted through EPs, albums, venue tours, festivals and specialist programmes. The trajectory shows how a Gran Canaria band can retain origin identity while operating within mainland independent infrastructure.
The band forms in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
It releases its first LP with Subterfuge Records.
The planned tour includes Primavera Sound, Ebrovisión, Santander Music Festival and Festival Gigante.
The group reappears as a trio and releases songs in Spanish.
