Group history
Agrupación Tendal officially debuted on 15 July 1999 in the Plaza de San Andrés, in the municipality of San Andrés y Sauces (La Palma). Its founders came from the municipality’s Rondalla Lo Divino, a group of friends who gathered every Christmas to perform villancicos, and who decided to extend their musical activity year-round by forming a stable ensemble. The group is part of the Asociación Cultural Harán, officially registered on 13 August 1998 (Provincial Association Registry No. 4171), which also brings together the Agrupación Folklórica Bediesta, the Rondalla Lo Divino itself, Batucada Campobassao Samba, Rondalla Las Divinas, the Escuela de Folklore Harán and the Agrupación Juvenil de Percusión. Over time Tendal added instruments such as flute, trumpet and the cuatro to its traditional lineup.
