Pop rock and rock covers band
Ni 1 Pelo de Tonto is a Tenerife pop rock band with a festive live approach, combining original songs, reworked covers and continued presence on Canarian stages.
In 2013 the Canary Islands Government presented Ni 1 Pelo de Tonto as a Canarian pop rock band followed by Tenerife audiences, then formed by David Amador, David Rodríguez, Zeben Estévez, Néstor Cabello and Paco Matute. Their first recording was Sencillo y natural. Later programmes document the group’s continuity over the following decade, with concerts in Tenerife and a discography including Muévete, Iván and Lo mejor de Ni 1 Pelo de Tonto.
Their importance within the catalogue is to represent an often under-documented area of Canarian music: live bands combining original repertory, covers and local festive life. Their participation in the 2013 Free People Festival, alongside Gospel Shine Voices and the Santa Cruz Municipal Band, shows their place in public cultural events and hybrid formats mixing music and social message.
The group works with direct-energy pop rock, original songs and covers of hits from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s in Spanish and English. Sources highlight the adaptation of those materials into their own stage style, with lead voice, guitars, bass, drums and keyboards in the first documented line-up.
Their transmission happens mainly through popular concerts, festivities, cultural cycles and digital platforms. David Amador’s later evolution towards Delokos, documented by Indica, extends part of that experience into a Canarian rock project based on original songwriting.
The band releases its first recording.
It takes part in the Martin Luther King musical tribute organised in Tenerife.
It presents a second recording with documented collaborations by Carlos Goñi and Palmera.
Lo mejor de Ni 1 Pelo de Tonto gathers eight songs on digital platforms.
