Meridian Zero is a Tenerife melodic heavy-metal band known for Doors of Creation and for its impact on the 2000s Canarian metal scene.
The Canary Islands Government documents that Meridian Zero recorded its first work, Doors of Creation, in 2005 with Andi Deris as producer. In 2006 it presented the Fighting to Arrive video at Lonjas Rock06 and won the Canary Islands Government’s Juventud y Cultura contest. MondoSonoro reported its 2011 split, highlighting its 2008 Bilborock victory and the impact it had reached in the Canary Islands.
Meridian Zero’s relevance comes from professionalising Tenerife melodic metal with production linked to Andi Deris, presence on European compilations and awards outside the islands. MondoSonoro treated its split as that of one of the metal groups with greatest impact in the Canary Islands.
