Hard rock and AOR band
Krull is one of the historic bands of Canarian hard rock, formed in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in 1983 and known for taking island hard rock and AOR to records and widely followed stages.
Krull formed in early 1983 in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Enciclopedia Guanche documents the demo Acero Canario that same year, participation in Canarias me suena Volumen 1 and a discography including Hasta el Límite, Simplemente Fuerte and Armas de Paz before the 1995 split. The band returned in 2010 with a renewed line-up around historic members.
Their relevance lies in opening space for hard rock within a Canarian music industry that had prioritised other repertories. Canarias Cultura presents Simplemente Fuerte as an album with a strong fan response, mainland circulation and good national press reviews, placing Krull as a reference for later generations of island metal and hard rock.
The group combined hard-rock guitars, melodic vocals, bass, drums and keyboards. Its evolution from Hasta el Límite through Simplemente Fuerte and Armas de Paz shows a move towards AOR, with broad choruses and more polished production without abandoning guitar weight.
Krull’s transmission comes from fan loyalty, the circulation of its records and the 2010 reunion. Its return turns the memory of 1980s and 1990s Canarian hard rock into living practice, connecting historic musicians with audiences who know the repertory through recordings and scene accounts.
