Electronic punk and industrial band
Brutalizzed Kids is a Tenerife electronic punk, industrial and punk-rock band, described by TEA as emblematic within the Canarian rock scene.
La Fonoteca places the start in late 2003 with Carlos Dalton, Albert, Fafe, Pistol and Franchy, and records the active period from 2004. The stage debut took place at the VII Encuentro de Jóvenes de Tafira in Gran Canaria. Hoy de Noche Sale el Sol appeared in 2005, recorded at Guamasa Estudios, Multitrack Records and Arena Digital. In 2018 TEA documented Carlos Pérez Martín’s feature film about the band’s fifteen-year career.
Its relevance is supported by unusual circulation for a Canarian band with an extreme sound: TEA records concerts in Berlin, Amsterdam, Donosti, Bilbao, Vitoria, Madrid, Mallorca and other cities, third prize at Festimadtaste 2010 among 1,062 bands and El Diablo es Devil being named Best Metal Album at the MIN awards.
La Fonoteca classifies the music as industrial, electronic punk and punk-rock. The group combines guitar, bass, drums and voice with samples, noise and punk energy; the scene has connected it with imaginaries of White Zombie, Faith No More, Atari Teenage Riot or Ministry without making those references literal copies.
Brutalizzed Kids’ transmission includes records, festivals, audiovisual archives and the documentary premiered at TEA. Its case expands the Canarian music narrative towards DIY, industrial punk and national independent-music networks.
