Group history
In 2005 the Canary Islands Government documented Atcheré’s external projection through Canarias Crea: the group was preparing the Madrid presentation of Mejunje and was described as a Latin jazz ensemble made up of musicians from different styles. The same source cited Amanece and Mejunje and placed the group in festivals such as Jazz Heineken & Más de Canarias, Jazz & Soul Tenerife, Big Band Festival and Havana’s Jazz Plaza International Festival. In 2015 Canarias Jazz & Más presented it in the DCanarios section as an eight-artist ensemble directed by Manuel Ángel Lorenzo Mangui, with four released albums: Amanece, Mejunje, Materia Prima and The beat goes on. In 2018 Auditorio de Tenerife programmed Atcheré at the X Canarias Jazz Showroom with its fifth work, Mestizo.
