Brutal death metal band
Apostles of Perversion is a brutal death metal band linked to Gran Canaria after Héctor Sena’s move, with South American tours and several specialist releases.
MetalFriends documents that Apostles of Perversion was born in Madrid in 2002 but continued in Gran Canaria when Héctor Sena moved to the island. The first island line-up brought together Héctor Sena, Pedro Del Rosario, Alejandro Rodríguez, Jesús Ojeda and Fernando de la Coba. Later came the demo Intracranial Hypertension, the MCD Meeting of Atrocities, Revenge Beyond the Grave and Scars of a Sick Mind, as well as South American tours.
Its importance in the Canarian catalogue lies in representing the extreme end of island metal: brutal death metal with specialist releases, concerts alongside international bands and circulation through South America. Metal Archives places the band’s later location in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, reinforcing its belonging to the islands’ scene.
The style centres on American-influenced brutal death metal, with short tracks, guttural vocals and emphasis on rhythmic intensity. MetalFriends describes extreme music alternating direct brutality and mid-tempo passages, characteristic traits of this branch of death metal.
The group’s transmission relies on specialist labels, Bandcamp, metal archives and international tours. Its presence allows Canarian music history to include extreme, minority and transnational circuits, not only broadly circulated genres.
The project begins in Madrid before continuing in Gran Canaria.
