Manuel Monzón Mingorance, founder of Los Rumberos, is associated with the consolidation of the comparsas of Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival. His figure completes the musical dimension of carnival alongside the murgas, adding rhythm, choreography, percussion and collective visual culture.
Regarded as a father of the carnival comparsas, he helped create a popular space where music, dance and urban culture developed a distinctive identity.
